Dr. Dre’s Estranged Wife Explains Why She Needs $2 Million in Monthly Spousal Support

Nicole Young, soon-to-be ex-wife to Dr. Dre is asking for almost $2 million spousal support monthly after filing for divorce. One would wonder why she would ask for such a huge amount for alimony. She broke down the sum to monthly expenses stated in legal documents such as $135,000 on clothes, $20,000 on phone and emails, $10,000 for laundry, and $900,000 on entertainment, each of the above given monthly. Contacting a spousal support lawyer Los Angeles would be ideal for these cases.

Currently, TMZ reports that Dr. Dre is presently covering for Young’s expenses, while they reside in their home in Malibu. These expenses include the cost of chefs, security, care, maintenance and other luxuries. Young also wants her legal fees of $5 million to be covered in order to pay for lawyers for alimony in Los Angeles. Dre will probably use their current arrangement of living to support why he shouldn’t pay $1,936,399 monthly spousal support.

Young filed for divorce in late June. Her reasons for alimony after divorce were due to “irreconcilable differences”. They got married in 1996 and have two children together, Truly and Truice, 19 years and 23 years old respectively. Young seeks for spousal support and division of properties worth millions which Dre says would be split based on terms of the prenup.

Young claimed that she signed a prenup unwillingly in 1996 under a lot of pressure from her husband Dr. Dre. Later they agreed to disregard their prenup making it null and void in the continuance of their marriage. However, Dre disputes her words and would like to consider the prenup during the divorce proceedings of alimony. However, Dr. Dre agrees to pay alimony after divorce. Young defended her demands in court with her lawyers for alimony in Los Angeles, by saying that Dr. Dre’s net worth had amassed to almost $1 billion during the time of their marriage.

Despite the divorce being messy, the hope is that the two parties will eventually come to a decision. Young’s defense for asking for such a massive amount is based on the fact that Dre has made his wealth during their marriage, including when he sold his Beats Electronics to Apple for $3 billion and other things such as music royalties and properties in real estate. Young’s expenses do not include child support because the children are old enough.
